15 years ago Bigfoot commissioned writer, actor, storyteller and drama therapist Sam Adams to write a schools performance and workshop programme 'All Aboard The Empire Windrush' to promote Black History and celebrate The Windrush Generation and its positive impact on British society.

Each year we visit hundreds of schools to tell the story that needs to be told, and we have now filmed this amazing programme for all schools to enjoy!

Join Bigfooters Dani and Stephan as they take you on a journey of discovery from Jamaica to Tilbury aboard The Empire Windrush, the maiden voyage of what would become the start of the UK's biggest migration of people that would help rebuild post-war Britain and create the multi-cultural Britain we know today.

This 35 minute film is suitable for Key Stage 1 & 2 and also comes with a downloadable PDF teacher resource pack so you can continue to explore the topic further with your class groups.

"I have recently purchased The Windrush film to use with our Year 6 classes as part of our Diversity Week during Black History month. I just wanted to inform you that the feedback was extremely positive from the teachers who delivered the lessons. The children were engaged throughout the sessions and had fun learning about this important era in British History. A huge thank you from us!" - Karen Kirby, Head, Somerville Primary, Birmingham

"The film worked and the class loved it. The actors were so engaging and talented and the content was just right. Thanks for all the back-up you gave to get us up and running, we will definitely use it again to bring the Windrush to life!" – Cathy Frost, Heathbrook Primary, London
